Questions about Strategos? We are here to help.
What are the rules of Strategos?
Strategos is based on Latrunculi — an ancient Roman board game. Pieces are placed in turns during Deployment, then moved one square orthogonally in Manoeuvre. A piece is captured when flanked on two opposite sides by enemy pieces. The Citadel (center square) is a safe zone. The app includes an in-game Rules guide with illustrated cards.
How do I reset my progress?
Open Settings (gear icon in the top right of the main screen), scroll to Erase Progress, and type CLEAR to confirm. This removes all local statistics.
Does the app require internet?
No. Strategos is fully offline. No internet connection is required at any time.
What is a chain capture?
After a move captures one or more pieces, if the same piece can immediately move again to capture more, you must continue. This sequence is a chain. Longest chain is tracked in your statistics.
What is Two Players mode?
Pass-and-play on a single device. Both sides are controlled by human players taking turns.
Can I undo a move?
Yes. Tap the undo button during a game to roll back the last full turn (your move and the AI response together). Full game history is kept. Games with undo used are not counted toward the longest chain record.
What board sizes are available?
5x5 (quick game, 12 pieces per side) and 7x7 (tactical, 24 pieces per side). Choose in Match Setup before starting.
